Species: Elder Dragon

Age: ???

Size: 5ft10/Large (Feral)

- Taxonomy -

Order:True Order Unknown - Suborder:Fire Dragon - Family:Tesukato. Elder Dragon. Its closest relation is Teostra, its male counterpart of the species.

- Habitat Range -

Lunastra are found in the Volcano, Desert and Tower. They are known to use the Tower as their lair and roosting ground. To look for food, they go to the Volcano and Desert, as there are more food sources. The Lunastra is said to eat coal in the Volcano, in order to enhance its fiery breath.

- Ecological Niche -

Like most Elder Dragons (if not all) Lunastra doesn't reside in one place permanently, it travels around. This is observable when they move regularly from the Volcano to the Tower (often going to the Tower to heal itself or to rest, like a lot of other Elder Dragons). However they may compete with equally large(or even larger) and powerful predators such as Berukyurosu, Silver Rathalos, Lavasioth, Rajang, Kuarusepusu, Tigrex, Gold Rathian, Akantor, Odibatorasu, and other rare predatory Elder Dragons. Yet with their large size, strength, firepower, and speed Lunastra are far from helpless against such threats.

- Biological Adaptations -

Lunastra, as a fire dragon, naturally have expert control over fire. She uses this ability when hunting to ensure quick and devastating kills. Despite her large size, she is quick on foot and can easily chase down fast moving prey. Lunastra can also generate a fire aura around their bodies from their horns, which helps prevent brazen monsters like Tigrex from dealing serious damage to them. These adaptions enable Lunastra to become a formidable apex predator wherever she is. There wings are covered in a powder that can be released and at will be set a flame burning in the air in explosions. This explosive powder is actually the Lunstra's old skin

- Behavior -

Lunastra are a brutal female dragon, quick to attack at the first sign of trouble, though not as much as Teostra. Lunastra's temperament means that she will not let a hunter trespass on her territory. This is evident, as when a hunter enters a zone that Lunastra is in, she almost immediately detects their presence and viciously attacks, regardless of how far away the hunter is. However, unlike Teostra, Lunastra is prone to showing warning signs to leave her territory, meaning she is not entirely as brutal as led to believe. There are some visible veins on Lunastra's crown.

In the ruins of the old Towers, Lunastras are commonly found in their nest together with Teostras. This suggest that both actually stay in the nest together and guard their young. Though both haven't been seen in the nest together, both of their footprints can be found in the old nests and the active nests together.
